Introduction

Clam AntiVirus is an open-source antivirus toolkit designed primarily for detecting trojans, viruses, malware, and other malicious threats. It is especially useful for email scanning on mail gateways but can also be used to scan files, directories, and even entire filesystems1. ClamAV provides a variety of utilities, including a multi-threaded daemon, a command-line scanner, and tools for automatic database updates.
